Reported at onestepoffthegrid.com.au: Western Australia’s Labor government plans to launch a $5,000 rebate for home battery storage as part of a $387 million Residential Battery Scheme aimed at reducing energy bills and enhancing rooftop solar efficiency.

The scheme, eligible for all income levels, will also include a no-interest loan program targeting low and medium-income households to help cover battery costs.

This initiative is expected to significantly increase the number of residential batteries in the state, contributing over 200 megawatt hours of storage to the grid.
