Regional leaders in Western Australia have expressed concerns about a lack of housing amid government and opposition pledges to boost regional populations ahead of the upcoming election, the ABC reports.

The Cook government plans to invest $145 million to increase housing supply, including new Government Regional Officer Housing properties, while the opposition proposes a $100 million infrastructure commitment.
