From the Prime Minister: The Government has announced will provide tax relief to Australia’s distillers, brewers, and wine producers by increasing the excise remission cap to $400,000 and raising the Wine Equalisation Tax (WET) producer rebate to the same amount, effective from July 1, 2026.

The initiative aims to support local industries, boost regional tourism, and encourage job creation, affecting around 1,500 brewers and distillers and 3,000 wine producers.

Additionally, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) will offer support to help these businesses expand their exports to high-priority overseas markets.
