Reported at www.abc.net.au: The West Australian government and opposition are prioritizing regional housing development to attract more workers outside Perth, pledging significant funding to address the housing shortage.

Regional leaders express concern that without adequate housing, efforts to boost the workforce in areas like Karratha and Northam may be hindered.

The Cook government has committed $145 million for new housing, including 100 Government Regional Officer Housing units, while the opposition has promised $100 million for infrastructure to support housing.
