Reported at www.abc.net.au: A legislative amendment has been proposed in New South Wales to make it mandatory for most hospitals to provide abortion services, addressing gaps in current healthcare access.

The initiative follows reports of temporary restrictions on abortion services at the Orange Health Service, highlighting the need for compulsory care and better referral pathways.

If passed, the amendment would also eliminate the requirement for doctors to report terminations within 28 days, aiming to streamline access to abortions across the state.
