Reported at www.theguardian.com: The latest Essential poll shows Australia’s major political parties, Labor and the Coalition, tied at 48% in the two-party-preferred vote with many voters unaware of Labor’s key policies and achievements.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s approval ratings have dropped five points to 42%, while opposition leader Peter Dutton’s approval has also decreased, leading to a competitive political landscape ahead of a potential federal election.
The poll indicates that while Labor leads among younger voters, significant numbers remain uninformed about policies such as tax cuts and social housing initiatives.
